Canine DepartmentCanine Adoption Coordinator Paws is seeking an individual with a high level of comfort working with dogs of all sizes and temperament. In addition, the individual should be knowledgeable concerning traits and attributes specific to certain breeds, along with confident handling. This position requires, but is not limited to strong organizational and time management skills, excellent customer service skills and effective interpersonal relationship skills with employees and volunteers. You will work closely with the kennel manager and be expected to demonstrate the utmost professionalism and team mentality.This is a full time,salaried position which requires evening and weekend hours along with some holidays. Feline DepartmentFeline Care Program Manager/Adoption Coordinator PAWS is seeking a dynamic individual to manage the feline program. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to intake of cats, responding to relinquishment of cats with intervention strategies and providing the public with resources for stray/feral cats. In addition, the manager communicates all medical and behavioral issues to the vet tech and shelter director. The most crucial aspect of this position are adoptions and fostering of our cats. The right candidate must possess superior communication skills with the public, volunteers, staff and adoption counselors. As manager you will meet with adoption counselors on a regular basis to coordinate adoption activities and strategize issues and policy and procedures. You are responsible for conducting adoptions and overseeing all applications, interview prospective adopters, show animals and finalize placements. The position demands keen insight into managing the shelter population, always mindful of maintaining manageable numbers. We hope to find someone who is progressive with oversight and innovative in finding homes particularly for our long tenured cats. This is a full time salaried position requiring evenings, weekends and some holidays. Salary is commensurate with experience.
